Why Detailers & Car Guys Deserve Better Apparel
— by Brock, Founder of Detail Driven
Let’s be real: if you’re a car detailer or an enthusiast, you’ve probably ruined more T-shirts than you can count. Sweat, chemicals, constant motion — most clothes just aren’t made for what we do.
Yet somehow, we’re expected to either wear stiff uniforms that look like they belong at a dealership, or cheap branded merch that feels like sandpaper.
That didn’t sit right with me.
Because Detailing Is More Than a Job
For a lot of us, detailing isn’t just a side hustle or weekend grind — it’s a mindset. It’s about doing things right, noticing what others miss, and taking pride in results that speak louder than words.
That mindset deserves apparel that reflects it. Clothes that feel good during 10-hour days, move with you, and look clean enough to wear out after the final wipe down.
What’s Wrong with Most “Detailer” Merch?
Honestly? Most of it’s made without us in mind.
• Poor fits
• Cheap fabrics
• Generic designs that say nothing about our passion
You’re either sweating through it by noon or throwing it away after a couple washes. And as someone who lives in both the detailing world and now the apparel space — I knew we could do better.
The Detail Driven Difference
When I started Detail Driven, I wanted to make clothes that felt premium, as well as relatable and aesthetic designs for our niche.
• Premium shirts that hold up in the garage and at the next car meet
• Designs inspired by detailers, not stock clipart
No shortcuts. No fast fashion. Just clothing that reflects the same pride and precision you put into your work.
